• Total or partial knee replacement • Ligament reconstruction • Menisectomy (removal of damaged meniscus via key-hole surgery) • Meniscus repair • Tendon repair • Tibial tubercle/tuberosity transfer • Lateral release
Physiotherapy Management
At Live Well Physio, we perform a thorough assessment to diagnose the cause of your problem. Our goal is to get you back to pain-free as soon as possible.
Physiotherapy is beneficial both pre-operatively and post-operatively.
During the pre-operative phase, your Physiotherapist will work with you to get your knee in the best possible state prior to the operation.
This may include:
• Strengthening the muscles around the knee
• Increasing flexibility
• Hydrotherapy (pool) based exercises
• Gym based exercises
• A home exercise programme
• Dry needling (acupuncture) techniques
• Taping techniques
Physiotherapy pre-operatively will enable you to have the best possible outcome following the operation and help to reduce your rehabilitation time, and reduce your levels pain and dysfunction post operatively.
During the post-operative phase, your Physiotherapist may provide the following to help get you back to your prior level of function:
• Strengthening and flexibility exercises
• Hydrotherapy based exercises
• Gym based exercises
• Education on how to use aids such as crutches
• Dry needling (acupuncture) techniques
• Taping techniques
We are committed to helping you achieve your health goals and to Live Well.
