Mums and Bubs Pilates and Cardio

It can be challenging to get back into exercise once you have had a baby! At Live Well Physio, we are passionate about helping you safely exercise post-partum. Our mums & bubs classes use Pilates, cardio and boxing exercises to specifically target the areas that need strengthening after pregnancy and childbirth.

Our classes are run by accomplished physiotherapists with expertise in women’s health and Pilates (They are also mums themselves!). They are also a great way to meet, exercise and have fun with other mums & babies!

Prior to starting the classes you will attend a 40 minute assessment at one of our clinics. During this appointment, we check abdominal muscle separation and use realtime ultrasound imaging to assess your pelvic floor and core abdominals. We also perform a posture and movement assessment and determine what your goals are, in order to work at an appropriate level in the classes.

What happens in a class?

The classes are 1 hour in duration and consist of a warm up followed by approximately 30 minutes of cardio and boxing then 30 minutes of Pilates and cool down/stretches. During the class, your baby can sit in their pram or in a bouncinette/circle of fun (we supply a few or you can bring your own!). If you need to feed your baby, you can stop and feed at any point. The classes are a great way to get an effective workout in in a supportive environment, having fun with your baby and other mums.
