The temporomandibular joint (known as the “TMJ”) or “jaw joint” can be a source of pain located around the jaw itself, head and ear and can be a source of headache. This can occur following an injury, after dental and orthodontic work, arthritic changes and grinding the teeth at night.
Signs and Symptoms
• Pain with eating • Clicking and clunking o the jaw • Difficulty opening the mouth • Headaches after eating • Occasionally, neck pain can also be present
