Vertigo is a sense of dizziness or “spinning” sensation in the head. The most common form of this is Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, or BPPV, caused by calcium carbonate crystals (or debris) floating in the canals of the inner ear.
Signs and Symptoms
• Sensation of “spinning” • Symptoms worse when looking up and down, rolling in bed • Symptoms often worse at night • Occasionally associated with nausea and vomiting
