Dance Physiotherapy is a niche branch of physiotherapy focusing on the prevention, assessment, and treatment of dance-related injuries. It combines knowledge of dance techniques with medical expertise to address the specific needs of dancers, enhancing their performance and reducing injury risks.

Our Dance Physiotherapy service is led by two highly experienced practitioners, Kirsty Jackson and Juliet Ridge, who bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to support dancers in achieving their best performance and recovery. Kirsty and Juliet, both former dancers and seasoned dance teachers, integrate their rich backgrounds in dance with physiotherapy expertise to provide tailored care for dance-related injuries.

Discover how expert care can elevate your dance journey. At Live Well, we’re committed to helping you move with confidence and grace.

More on Dance Physiotherapy

Who can benefit from Dance Physiotherapy?

Dancers of all ages and styles—from ballet and contemporary to jazz and hip-hop—can benefit. Whether you’re a beginner, a seasoned performer, or returning to dance after a break, our services are designed to support your individual journey.

What should I expect during a session?

Your initial session will involve a comprehensive assessment of your movement patterns, strength, flexibility, and technique. Based on this, we’ll develop a personalised treatment plan that may include manual therapy, targeted exercises, and technique modifications to address any issues and enhance your performance.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows free movement. If applicable, bring your dance shoes (e.g. pointe shoes, ballet flats, jazz or tap shoes) and any relevant medical information.

Do you offer pre-pointe assessments?

Yes! Pre-pointe assessments are offered by Kirsty Jackson and Juliet Ridge at Live Well Currambine. Please wear your leotard and tights with ballet shoes to your pre-pointe assessment.

Do you do Pilates for dancers?

Absolutely! Both Kirsty and Juliet are certified Clinical Pilates instructors who offer classes designed to enhance and refine your dance skills.
