If you are injury and pain-free, the next step is to work on maintaining your health. When was the last time you took stock of your health and looked at areas you may need to maintain to prevent future problems? There is an increasing body of evidence supporting preventative healthcare and at Live Well, this is our passion! Let us show you how you can maintain your health and reduce the risk of injury or pain, as well as build your mental resilience and take care of your nutrition.
Many of our clients are on a maintenance programme for their injury or pain. This means they attend regular (often monthly or six weekly) check-ups to keeping things moving, check and progress exercises as well as maintain accountability with their treatment plan. For many clients, this can be an effective way to ensure progress continues and their injury does not recur.
Our clinical exercise and Pilates classes are amazing at helping to maintain your health. Exercises are specifically tailored for your body and to help you achieve your health goals. They incorporate Pilates-based exercises along with physiotherapy expertise to help your body move in a way that feels good and keeps it healthy for the long term.
Our mat exercise and Pilates classes are an excellent way to maintain your health and keep your body moving effectively whilst improving your core and flexibility. These classes include 10 minutes of meditation at the end to make sure both your body and mind are taken care of. The perfect way to wind down after work and to move and stretch your body to keep it healthy.
Our dieticians are expertly placed to advise you on what a healthy diet looks like specifically for your body. When it comes to eating well, it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach. We are all different and whilst there are general healthy eating guidelines that can be helpful, best practice recommends seeing a dietician to get some recommendations specifically for you.
A healthy mind is an important as a healthy body. With our fast-paced lives, it is easy to forget to take care of our mental health. Part of seeing a psychologist includes regular check-ins to make sure you are applying the tools they have given you to help maintain optimal mental health. Our clinical psychologist is available to help you maintain your mental health and build resilience to be able to better deal with all life throws at you.
Hydrotherapy consists of physiotherapy-prescribed exercises performed in warm water. It is a great form of exercise to do regularly to maintain chronic health conditions and ensure you can continue exercising to stay as healthy as possible. If you experience pain when you move and it’s limiting you from exercising, hydrotherapy can be the bridge to get you from where you are, to where you want to be.
Performing a regular gym programme can form part of maintaining your overall health, help prevent injuries and can help enhance your strength and conditioning. Having a programme that is prescribed by a physiotherapist is a great way to ensure you are doing the right exercises to best support your body and to check you are performing them correctly.
Running is actually good for you (when it is done correctly!). Our running clinic is designed to help you identify areas of your running that could be improved and to help prevent injuries that can commonly occur from running where technique has not been taught correctly. Having a running assessment is a great way to ensure you can maintain the healthy habit of running for exercise and ensure your body is working well in the process to help prevent injury and maintain good health.
Many clients with foot issues require a regular check-up and maintenance by a podiatrist. Podiatry deals with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limbs. If you live to 80, you will have walked the equivalent of five times round the earth! Will your feet make it?
As women, we can often overlook our own health or believe it is normal to have leakage when we run or laugh! (It’s not by the way!). We are very passionate about women’s health and believe that every woman should have a pelvic floor screen before or during pregnancy, post-partum and pre and post menopause. We have a women’s health physiotherapist who can provide care for more complex conditions and all our practitioners are trained in women’s health. You are important to those around you and it is important you maintain good health.
Our remedial massage therapists are very experienced and work alongside our physiotherapy team in helping to get you back to good health. A regular remedial massage can have long-lasting effects on your body, including; to reduce stress, relax tight muscles, alleviate pain and enhance wellbeing. Regular massage is a great way to maintain the health of your body and to treat yourself to a bit of time out to relax.
Life coaching is a great way to process through thoughts and challenges in life, as well as to help with decision-making, career pathways and in planning and goal-setting. You don’t need to have a specific problem to see a life coach, they are there to support you no matter where you are at in life and a great resource for just talking through what you want for your one precious life. A regular check in with your life coach can help to keep you on track with your goals and how you are feeling, as well as give you a safe space to share your thoughts and work through them.
How often do you think about treating your mind? Your mind is like a muscle and can get stronger with use so it makes sense to give it a bit of attention and focus on keeping your mind in the best health possible. Our life coach, Laura Rosher, runs monthly workshops that are amazing for personal development and becoming the best version of yourself!
