Neck pain can originate from incorrect posture of the head and neck, most commonly showing as a forward-head posture and slouching shoulders. In addition, prolonged forward bending of the head, as when a student is studying, can create havoc along the spine. Incorrect posture leads to an imbalance in loading along the spine which can contribute to several issues including facet joint pain, muscle imbalance and /or disc problems. Long-term effects can include disc and facet joint degeneration.

• Neck pain along one or both sides • Loss of movement of the neck • Headaches • Tight and sore muscles • Radiating pain along the neck, upper back and/or shoulders • Potential pins and needles and/or numbness
