Repetitive Strain injuries (RSi) is the name given to injury caused by muscle overuse. It occurs when repetitive or forceful tasks cause inflammation and damage to soft tissues. Although it can occur in any limb, it is most common in the forearm.
Signs and Symptoms
• Burning, aching or shooting pain around a muscle • Tingling or numbness around a muscle • Fatigue or lack of strength • Weakness in the hands or forearms • Pain or difficulty with functional activities such as turning a tap, chopping vegetables or opening a jar • Pain caused by performing repetitive tasks such as writing, chopping, typing or using a mouse
