A cervicogenic headache is a type of headache caused by tightness and restriction to the upper neck. The upper back can also contribute to the problem and various muscle and joint restrictions can create irritation to the nerves supplying the head and neck.
Signs and Symptoms
• Neck pain and headache symptoms during activity or in sustained positions • Neck stiffness often present • Light headedness • Often one-sided • Occasionally associated with dizziness and light sensitivity
