De Quervains tenosynovitis is an inflammation of the sheath that surrounds two tendons that control movement of the thumb. It is common in women during and after pregnancy as well as athletes playing racket sports.
Signs and Symptoms
• Pain, tenderness, and swelling over the thumb side of the wrist • Difficulty gripping
