Degeneration of the lower back is a normal occurrence with age. Occasionally, this process can cause significant narrowing of the joints in the lower back, producing movement restriction and pain.
Signs and Symptoms
• Reduced lower back movement • Pain worse after sitting or standing long periods • Restriction of forward bending • Pain after physical activity • Occasionally referral of pain to the legs, associated with pins and needles and numbness
